INVITE VICTORIAN POLICE SERGEANT GODLEY  TO YOUR SCHOOL AND HELP HIM INVESTIGATE THE RIPPER CASE

After an interesting 27 year career in the UK Police force fascination with Policing through the ages and in particular the Ripper case continues to captivate me. Through my work as a historical interpreter I have played a Victorian Police Officer on many times and this paved the way for my new character Sergeant Godley.

Sergeant Godley tells of life in the ill-lit, squalid, streets of London’s East End at a time when the residents were in fear of the killer who became known as Jack the Ripper. This is a fascinating period in our history, rich with lessons on crime and punishment without the aid of modern technology.

Talks are a minimum of 2 hours in duration and cost circa £250 plus expenses.

The session includes:

  • Interactive tasks, where young people are given the opportunity to work with Sgt Godley to investigate suspects.
  • Get the chance to examine the authentic uniform and equipment of a Victorian Policeman.
  • Experience life in Victorian Britain.
  • Role plays
  • A lively question and answer session.
